Varsity soccer travelled to perennial powerhouse Moeller for a huge early season test. The Panthers were superb from the beginning whistle. In the 6th minute, Grant Perry was fouled as he broke to goal then Rowen Arnold started the scoring directly from a free kick. Shortly after, Grant Perry found the back of the net on a deflection from a shot by Julian Rowlands to put Springboro up 2-0 with 24' left to play. With 15' left in the half, Julian Rowlands had a nice finish on a crossed ball from Luke Crowley to extend the lead to 3-0. With a few minutes remaining in the first half, Jason Thomison made a streaking run from the back and found the Panthers 4th goal of the half with a composed finished on the back post on a ball from Rowen Arnold. Moeller was able to claw 2 goals back in the second half however it wasn't enough to catch Springboro. Xavier May, making his varsity debut, collected 7 saves on the day. The Panther win ends Moeller's undefeated regular season streak since 2022! Springboro improves to 2-1 on the season and opens GWOC play on Tuesday, August 26th at 7:15p at home for SENIOR NIGHT vs Springfield.
