Springboro made a statement in the home opener last week- dominating Edgewood 38-0. The Panthers outgained the Cougars 380 to 48 overall.
Quarterback Max Miller was efficient, going 18 for 29 for 252 yards and 3 TDs. Brady Gutmann was the leading receiver with 8 receptions for 94 yards and a TD, while Noah Bilinski added 6 grabs for 81 yards and an impressive one-handed TD reception. Mattias Brunicardi had 125 all purpose yards and 2 scores. His 68 yard touchdown reception in the 3rd quarter turned the lights out on the Cougars.
The Panther defense was smothering all night long. Evan Weinberg and Max Weimer both had 8 total tackles to lead the defense. Boro had 7.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss on the evening. Weinberg had 3 sacks of his own, Carter Napier added 1.5, and Weimer, Matt Giuffre, and Isaiah Doerman had a sack each. Henry Greenberg stayed perfect on the season - going 5/5 on PATs and adding a Field Goal.
Elder comes into Watkins Stadium off of a big win vs. Covington Catholic 28-20. The Panthers blew out Mt. Zion Prep (MD) 34-0 in the opener. Elder’s last trip to Watkins Stadium was in 2022 where they edged Springboro 21-20.
