The Springboro Lady Panthers kicked off their away schedule with a 3-0 victory over the Sycamore Aviators.

The opening ten minutes saw Sycamore press hard, testing the Panthers’ back line with several aggressive attacks. Goalkeeper Susan Schaff stood tall, turning away multiple threats, while midfielder Keira Buckholtz made a defensive role play by clearing a ball off the goal line to keep the game scoreless.

Springboro broke through at the 25:39 mark of the first half when Ellie Urlich delivered a perfectly placed corner kick that curled directly into the net, giving the Panthers a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, the Panthers extended their lead with two more goals. At 38:58, Buckholtz connected with Alex Elliot, who finished the play to make it 2-0. Then, with just over five minutes remaining, Poppy Wakefield found Hailey Burns with a well-timed pass that sealed the win at 3-0.

The Panthers’ defense held firm throughout, earning their second clean sheet.

Springboro returns home to Wade Field on August 25th to face the Mount Notre Dame Cougars in what promises to be another exciting matchup.
