The Springboro Lady Panthers returned to their home turf on Monday night to face off against the Mount Notre Dame Cougars in a tightly contested match that showcased defensive grit and strategic play.

The first half unfolded with both teams pressing forward but unable to break through each other's back lines. With just 35 seconds remaining before halftime, Springboro finally found their breakthrough. Poppy Wakefield delivered a precise pass to Hailey Burns, who slotted it home to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.

The second half mirrored the first in intensity, with neither side able to add to the score. Both defenses held firm, turning the match into a tactical chess game that kept fans on edge until the final whistle.

A special shoutout goes to the Springboro midfield and defensive units, whose disciplined performance secured the team’s third consecutive clean sheet.

The Lady Panthers head north on August 27th to face the Springfield Wildcats in the first GWOC conference game of the season. Game time kicks off at 7:15pm.
