The Springboro Lady Panthers added another win to their season with a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Olentangy Orange Pioneers in Columbus. The Panthers showed resilience and poise after an early setback in yet another physical match on the pitch.
One minute into the game, Olentangy Orange found forward movement that allowed them to take a 1-0 lead over the Panthers. Springboro quickly regrouped, found their rhythm, and began controlling possession. Their efforts paid off just four minutes later when Alex Elliot connected with Morgan DeMoss for the equalizer, leveling the score at 1-1.
The second half saw Springboro continue to dominate the midfield and dictate the pace. Their persistence was rewarded when DeMoss delivered a well-placed pass to Hailey Burns, who netted the go-ahead goal to make it 2-1.
Goalkeeper Susan Schaff and the defensive line continued to hold, keeping Olentangy off the board for the remainder of the match. With the win, Springboro improves to 8-1 on the season and looks to build momentum heading into the second half.
Next up, the Lady Panthers return home to Wade Field on Tuesday, September 16th at 7:15 with another GWOC match against the Northmont Thunderbolts.
