The Springboro Panthers left no doubt at the OHSAA Division I Southwest Sectional at Echo Hills Municipal Golf Course, cruising to a commanding team victory and punching their ticket to the District Tournament at Pipestone Golf Course.
Springboro posted a team score of 312 (+24), a remarkable 60 strokes ahead of second-place Tippecanoe (372). Greenville (377) and Kettering Fairmont (389) also claimed the final qualifying spots for districts.
The Panthers were led by senior Kinsley Brown, who fired an even-par 72 to capture medalist honors. Sophomore Mickaela Grieshop finished with a strong 77 (+5) to tie for third overall, while junior Elise Dunkle and senior Ari Lietzow added consistency with rounds of 81 (+9) and 82 (+10), respectively. Senior Payton Bailey rounded out Springboro’s dominance with an 83 (+11), giving the Panthers five players inside the top ten.
“This group has worked so hard all season, and today they showed their depth and focus,” said Springboro coach Phil Grieshop. “To have all five girls play this well at Sectionals is really special.”
With the sectional title secured, Springboro and the other top-four teams—Tippecanoe, Greenville, and Fairmont—advance to the Division I Southwest District Tournament at Pipestone Golf Course on Tuesday October 7th, where a state berth will be on the line.
