Springboro soccer travelled to Lakota West Thursday night and came away with a 2-2 draw in a very competitive match. The Panthers got on the board early in the match with a pass from Julian Rowlands to find Rowen Arnold who had a determined finish to put Springboro up 1-0. Springboro had the better of the first half but couldn't manage another goal and the game went into halftime 1-0. The second half started out well for the Panthers as their play was good to start the half which resulted in another goal on a cross from Gus Woodrum who found Rowen Arnold at the top of the penalty area for his second goal on the night. Lakota West got their feet under them and had some dangerous opportunities but Josh Gandee stifled most of them with 9 saves on the night. West was able to get two goals back to draw the match even which is where the match ended. Springboro move to 8-1-2 (4-0-0 in GWOC) on the season and return home Tuesday, September 23rd versus Beavercreek with a 7:15p kickoff. Thank you to those in the Blue Crew who made the trip last night! It was nice to see us with more student support than their home side.
