The Springboro Lady Panthers and the Oak Hills Highlanders played to a 0-0 draw, with defense taking center stage throughout the game.
The action began early, as Oak Hills earned a free kick less than two minutes into the match. The shot ricocheted off the top of the goal, but Springboro goalkeeper Susan Schaff was quick to recover, securing the rebound and setting the tone for a strong defensive outing.
Both teams continued to trade chances throughout the first half and into the second, but neither side could find the back of the net. With under ten minutes remaining, Oak Hills threatened with a breakaway opportunity. In a critical moment, Schaff charged out to meet the attacker one-on-one and made the save, preserving the shutout.
The match ended as it began, but not without intensity and grit. The Lady Panthers showed resilience and discipline, especially in the back line, as they held off a determined Oak Hills offense.
Springboro returns to GWOC conference play on Tuesday, September 24th at 7:15 PM, when they will play away against the Beavercreek Beavers.
