In their final Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) matchup of the season, the Springboro Lady Panthers were handed a 0-2 loss by the Centerville Elks on the road Wednesday evening. The defeat marks only the second loss of the season for Springboro, who finished second in the GWOC standings.

The first half saw a tightly contested battle with no goals scored by either side. Springboro generated offensive pressure but was unable to secure any scoring opportunities. Defensively, the Panthers held strong, not allowing Centerville to put numbers on the board, showing a 0-0 draw at half.

Momentum shifted early in the second half when the Elks struck twice in quick succession, scoring both goals within a minute of each other. Despite Springboro’s efforts to regroup, they were unable to recover from the sudden deficit.

Springboro will close out their regular season with an away game against the Lakota West Firebirds on Saturday, October 11th, at 2pm at Lakota West High School.
