The Springboro Lady Panthers started off strong for their run in the playoffs beginning with the District Semi-Finals, shutting out the Wayne Warriors with a 10-0 win. All the goals were scored in the first half, therefore concluding the game early in accordance with the OHSAA Guidelines.
20 seconds into the first half, Poppy Wakefield scored goal #1 to put the Lady Panthers on the board. She scored two more goals in total for the night, earning herself a hat-trick. Aubrey Harris scored two goals for the night, earning herself a brace. The additional 5 goals were scored by Morgan DeMoss, Baylee Cumbow with a header from a corner kick, Ava Whitt, Audrey Smith, and Keira Buckholtz who found the back of the net from a PK opportunity.
In line for the assists were Ellie Ulrich with four to her name for the night. Additional assists were provided from Stella Woodrum with two for the night as well as Macy Gill, Hailey Burns and Keira Buckholtz.
Goaltending duties were shared by Susan Schaff and Charlotte Fry, combining their efforts for a clean sheet.
With this win, the Lady Panthers advance to the District Finals, where they will face the Walnut Hills Eagles. The match is set for October 23rd at 7:00 PM, hosted at Centerville’s Alumni Stadium at Magsig Middle School.
