Springboro soccer returned to action at home Tuesday night to play Northmont and came away with a 4-3 victory. The Panthers started the match flat and gave up an early goal to the Bolts to go down 0-1 only 2 minutes into the match which is where the match was at halftime. Springboro came out with a renewed energy and more cohesive in the second half. The effort paid off with 23' left in the match when Gus Woodrum delivered a corner kick to find Julian Rowlands for the goal to level the match at 1-1. A few minutes later, Northmont found the go ahead goal but the Panthers were up to the task of getting back in front scoring 3 goals in a 6 minute span starting with slip pass from Emmett Lockhart to find Luke Crowley who slotted the ball far post to level the match at 2-2. Springboro kept pressing the attack and found a penalty kick 30 seconds later which was converted by Brady Scott to put the Panthers up 3-2. A few minutes later, Springboro was awarded another penalty kick which was scored by Luke Crowley for his second goal of the night to give the Panthers a 2 goal lead at 4-2. With less than 2 minutes left, Northmont found their last goal of the night to finish the match at 4-3. Devin Boland collected 4 saves on the night. Springboro improves to 4-4-2 (2-1-1 in GWOC) on the season and returns to action on the road at Beavercreek on Tuesday, September 29th at 7:15p.
