The Springboro Lady Panthers showed resilience and determination Saturday afternoon, overcoming a second-half deficit to earn a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Oak Hills Highlanders on the road.

The match featured strong defensive play from both teams early, with scoring opportunities at a premium throughout much of the first half. Springboro finally broke through with 13 minutes remaining before halftime when Stella Woodrum delivered a corner kick into the box that found Baylee Cumbow, who headed the ball into the net for a 1-0 Lady Panthers lead.

Springboro carried that advantage into the break, but Oak Hills responded quickly after halftime. Just three minutes into the second half, the Highlanders found the equalizer to make it 1-1. Less than five minutes later, Oak Hills struck again, turning the match around and taking a 2-1 lead.

The Lady Panthers wasted little time answering. Roughly a minute after Oak Hills second goal, Ava Whitt connected with Alex Elliott, who finished the opportunity to level the score at 2-2.

With the game winding down and less than seven minutes remaining, Elliott delivered once again shooting from outside the box the ball found the back of the net giving Springboro a 3-2 lead and the win.

Springboro will return home on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, to host Beavercreek in a GWOC game at Ralph E. Wade Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
