Patient and persistent effort paid off for the Springboro Lady Panthers on Saturday night as they earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Chaminade Julienne Eagles at Roger Glass Stadium.

From the opening whistle, it was apparent that Chaminade Julienne's game plan centered on limiting Springboro's high-powered attack. The Eagles packed players behind the ball and focused heavily on defense, forcing the Lady Panthers to work for every scoring chance.

Despite the defensive posture, Springboro controlled much of the first half. The Panthers generated several opportunities, including three corner kicks, and consistently maintained possession in the attacking third. However, the Eagles' defense held firm, and the match remained scoreless heading into halftime.

The second half followed a similar script as Springboro continued to apply pressure while Chaminade Julienne looked to continue their defensive game plan.

But with less than six minutes remaining, Springboro connected on a long pass that found Aubrey Harris behind the defense. Harris finished the opportunity, sending the ball past the goalkeeper for what proved to be the game-winning goal.

The Panthers' defense made the lead stand up over the final minutes, securing the 1-0 shutout victory. Charlotte Fry was in the goal for Springboro and recorded her second shutout in row

Springboro continues its road stretch this week and returns to Greater Western Ohio Conference play on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, when the Lady Panthers travel to Wayne High School to face the Wayne Warriors. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. at Wayne High School.
