The Springboro Panthers varsity volleyball team is preparing to close out its 2026 season after a challenging stretch of competition that has tested the team's toughness, resilience, and ability to compete against top programs across the region.

The Panthers' recent run began the previous week with an exciting five-set victory over the Sycamore Aviators, one of the top teams in the Greater Miami Conference (GMC). Springboro battled through a competitive match to earn the hard-fought win, showcasing the determination and team chemistry that have been hallmarks of the Panthers' season.

Springboro's offense delivered an impressive performance, finishing with 61 kills and 55 assists. Sophomore Reese Aracri led the attack with 24 kills, while junior Arianna Thornton added 8 and freshman Alannah Stevenson contributed 7. Junior Soniya Stevenson chipped in 6 kills, while senior Kaylee Breving added 10 kills to the Panthers' offensive effort.

The Panthers also received strong performances from their setters. Madison Helton recorded 28 assists, while Emma Gates added 20, helping Springboro generate offense throughout the five-set battle. Defensively, the Panthers totaled 87 digs, led by senior Rahnia Ruiz with 17. Aracri and junior Sofia Blackburn each contributed 14 digs, while Helton added 13.

The victory over Sycamore provided a strong springboard into the following week's demanding schedule.

The Panthers' next test came last Monday (10/12/26) against the Beavercreek Beavers in another tough GWOC battle. Despite a competitive effort, Springboro came up short against its conference rival.

Springboro then traveled south to face Mount Notre Dame, one of Cincinnati's perennial volleyball powers. The Panthers made an early statement, taking the opening set and silencing the home crowd. Mount Notre Dame responded by winning the next three sets to claim the match. Despite the four-set loss, Springboro demonstrated its ability to compete with elite competition and continued to show the fight and determination that have defined its season.

The Panthers returned home to close out their 2026 home schedule against the Wayne Warriors. Springboro delivered a dominant three-set victory, giving the team a strong finish in front of its home crowd and the Blue Crew. After a demanding stretch of competition, the Panthers responded with the energy and execution needed to finish their home schedule on a high note.

One More Battle: Panthers Travel to Centerville

The 2026 season concludes tonight with a highly anticipated road matchup against the Centerville Elks at Centerville High School.

The matchup features two of the GWOC's most explosive teams, setting the stage for an exciting season finale. Springboro will be looking to avenge an earlier-season loss to the Elks and finish the year with a statement victory against one of its toughest conference opponents.

With both teams capable of generating offense in bunches, the final match promises to be a competitive test of execution, composure, and determination. The Panthers will look to carry the momentum from their victory over Wayne into the season finale and close out the campaign with another memorable performance.
