The Springboro Panthers varsity volleyball team continued its undefeated start to the 2026 season Thursday night, earning a three-set victory over the Fairmont Firebirds at Trent Arena.

With the win, Springboro improves to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in GWOC play. It also marks the first time the program has started a season 5-0 since 2017.

The Panthers delivered another strong performance at the service line, recording 16 service aces in the three-set match. Reese Aracri and Emma Gates led the way with 4 aces each, while Sofia Blackburn added 3.

Offensively, Aracri was a force, finishing with 16 kills on 29 attempts while hitting .483, and 2 total blocks. Arianna Thornton added 9 kills and 3 total blocks and hit .444, while Mia DeToto contributed 4 kills.

The Panthers received strong contributions throughout the lineup. Emma Gates and Madison Helton helped keep the offense moving with 18 and 8 assists, respectively. Kaylee Breving added 3 kills, while Alannah Stevenson contributed 1 kill and 1 block.

Springboro also continued to show its defensive strength, with Mia DeToto recording a team-high 10 digs, while Sofia Blackburn added 6 and Reagan Dearth 3.

The Panthers have now opened the season with five consecutive victories and are off to a 2-0 start in conference play.
