Men's soccer traveled to Olentangy Liberty Saturday afternoon to come away with a 2-1 victory. The match was back and forth most of the first half which ended 0-0 at halftime. After making some adjustments, the Panthers were able to make it difficult for Olentangy to get out of the back and kept a nice press on the entire second half. The resulted in a Springboro goal with 7:35 left in the match when Julian Rowlands found Gus Woodrum for a shot from the top of the box to put the Panthers up 1-0. Olentangy was able to level the match 20 seconds later but Springboro was up to the task to get the goal back with only 2 minutes remaining in the match. Gus Woodrum found Emmett Lockhart who buried the ball near post for the 2-1 game winner. Declan Batner collected 2 saves on the day. Springboro improves to 3-3-1 on the season and returns to action on Tuesday, September 8th vs Fairmont at 7:15p at Wade Field.
